Beata Okulska assumed her duties as Executive Director of KEEN Greater DC in August, 2001. Her primary responsibility is to carry out the strategic plans and policies as established by the board of directors that include: advising the Board, advocating and implementing organization changes in agreement with KEEN's mission, formulating policies and planning recommendations to the Board, deciding or guiding courses of action in operations by staff, and overseeing all operations of KEEN and the implementation of plans.
Beata is a native of Poland and came to the United States in 1986. She holds a master's degree in economics from Warsaw School of Economics. Formerly, she worked for the Epilepsy Foundation, where she served as Program Director, and as Director in the Affiliate Relations Department.
