Darren Bernstein, native Washingtonian, graduated from Tulane University, The A.B. Freeman School of Business in 1990 with a degree in Management and a concentration in Finance. He continued on to American University, the Kogod School of Business, where he earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Planning and Urban Development in 1992. Simultaneously, he worked full time in his family business, the Hyman Bernstein Companies. This builder/developer and investment company served communities from Florida to New Jersey. Darren has dedicated himself to his family business for the entirety of his career, expanding the company portfolio to include property management in 1995. He is credited with changing the direction of the company to reduce holdings in residential real estate and move into commercial development, investment and management.
In addition to volunteering with KEEN Greater DC-Baltimore, Darren volunteers with Get Well Networks, the Chabad of Fairfax in Northern Virginia, the Chabad of Tyson’s Corner and Devotion to Children.
