KEEN Greater DC will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses or any other private information with any other entity. In addition, we will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.
KEEN Greater DC Donor Bill of Rights
To ensure that KEEN Greater DC (“KEEN GDC”) merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in KEEN GDC and the programs of KEEN GDC that donors are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:
- To be informed of KEEN GDC’s mission and of the way that we intend to use donated resources.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on KEEN GDC’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to KEEN GDC’s most recent annual financial statement.
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition, where desired by a donor.
- To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that the relationships of representatives of KEEN GDC with donors will be professional in nature.
- To be informed, on request, whether persons seeking donations for KEEN GDC are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that KEEN GDC uses.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
